Subject line: “Primal” Firearms Training Tip

Something fun that parents do with newborns is play “monkey see, monkey do” with them.

It’s a very primal game that babies and parents can start doing as early as 2 or 3 weeks–It’s even a test that many doctors and midwives do.

The simplest form of the game is to stick out your tongue and watch the baby stick their tongue out back at you. I still have fond memories of playing this game with my 2 boys.

Technically, the baby is using their “mirror neurons” to duplicate what they see.

This progresses to “peek-a-boo”, “contagious yawning,” crying when others cry, “infectious” laughing, and even physically reacting when someone gets hurt on TV or at a sporting event.

Here’s where this fits into firearms training

Human beings learn through observation.

When you watch someone do an activity with the intent to do it yourself, your brain will fire the same neurons that you’ll fire as if you were actually doing it yourself!

Put another way, if you watch a firearms instructor perform a drill and you watch them perform it with the intent of immediately doing the same drill and copying their form, you’ll actually be developing muscle memory both while you watch and when you do it yourself.

The more you watch perfect technique and copy it, the deeper, stronger, and more ingrained the neural pathways/muscle memory will become.

This can be good, if you’re modeling perfect technique, or it can be very bad, if you’re modeling Sabrina from “Charlie’s Angels”, The Lone Ranger, or other TV/Movie representations of gun handling.

If you’re just watching passively, like you do with most firearms training videos, or if there’s no opportunity to immediately practice the same drill that you’re watching the instructor do, you don’t get this benefit. You just get head knowledge.

There’s another big benefit to watching and immediately modeling behavior…especially when you’re learning a skill that you may have to use when you’re under extreme stress.

When you’re under stress, you won’t be able to think through complex movements like drawing a firearm from concealment and putting accurate shots on target.

You’ll skip conscious thought and go straight from the decision to shoot to executing whatever muscle memory/neural pathway has been repeated the most and is the strongest.

That’s not entirely true. If you don’t have a “default program” for your brain to execute, you’ll just freeze in confusion.

And, in case you’re fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing, freezing is very bad.

That’s one of the reasons why the SEALed Mindset Concealed Carry Masters Course is so incredibly effective…

After 10 years on the teams, retired Navy SEAL, Larry Yatch, created “Concealed Carry Masters Course” to use your brain’s simplest and most powerful learning systems to shortcut the process of learning firearms skills that will work under extreme stress.

Just to be clear, the “mirror neuron” stuff makes for neat trivia, but you really don’t need to understand the science behind the high-speed teaching methods to benefit from the course…you just need to follow along. The science is very advanced, but the course is simple.

Other firearms DVD training courses don’t take advantage of this powerful learning hack.

And live training courses are set up with the instructor modeling the process one or two times and then relying mostly on verbal instruction and correction, which isn’t nearly as powerful.

Simply watching the Concealed Carry Masters Course instructors demonstrate the drills and then immediately doing the drill yourself in your living room with an unloaded pistol fires the same neurons that you need to fire when subconsciously applying the skill–and this is exactly what needs to happen under stress.

The best part is, you can skip back and repeat the sections you want to focus on as many times as you want, until you have rock-solid technique hardwired into your brain. It’s like having a virtual private $300 per hour firearms instructor at your beck and call.

Think that’s cool? It’s just the tip of the iceberg. Learn more about Concealed Carry Masters Course, as well as special bonuses and savings that we’ve lined up for you for this week by clicking >HERE< now.

P.S.  Here’s what Michael Martin, Chief Instructor for USCCA had to say about Larry and the course, “I’ve had the pleasure of training with Larry Yatch for years, and I’ve always been continually impressed with not only his amazing experience as a Navy SEAL, but also with his ability to take topics that were previously reserved for elite tactical teams, and bring them to the civilian market in a way that we can understand.

The shooting techniques, the accelerated teaching/learning systems, and the integrated methods that he’s created are among the best that I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot.

While I’m lucky enough to live near Larry’s training headquarters, the Concealed Carry Masters Course takes the same knowledge that Larry has shared in the classroom and on the range with thousands of students, and packages it up into a DVD set that brings that same training into the comfort of your own home.

The Concealed Carry Masters Course is really groundbreaking in its ability to take the theory behind proper shooting techniques, and hardwire those techniques at on unconscious level.  If you’re serious about using a pistol for self-defense, you should seriously consider this course.”
